The annals of music history hold myriad examples of labels turning down an artist only to later deeply regret it. That's exactly what happened to Alice Merton. Nobody believed in her. And so, the young and widely-travelled singer-songwriter, who is as much at home in America and Canada as she is in Europe, took fate into her own hands and set up the Paper Plane Records label to release her song No Roots in 2016. It went platinum seven times, and gold in the States. Her debut album Mint also did well in the charts. The artist has had to come to terms with her mega success. Now she's back in 2022 with a fresh radiance and the release of her new album S.I.D.E.S..
