In 2018, the band Josh performed at Zermatt Unplugged under a new name, stepping into the spotlight as Black Sea Dahu. Since then, the band has become firmly rooted in the music industry, touring across Europe and building an international reputation. It’s pure magic. Is it thanks to the Dahu, a mythical creature with two shorter and two longer legs designed to stand better on slopes? Or is it the songs from the album White Creatures, which have been streamed extensively worldwide? Perhaps it’s the unmistakable alto voice of Janine Cathrein? Of course, it’s all of these together: Black Sea Dahu is unfathomable, mysterious, and beautiful. In February, their new album I am My Mother will be released.
