Karima Nayt is the first musician from the Arab world to perform at Zermatt Unplugged. Her artistic path has taken her from Algiers, where she trained as a dancer at the National Conservatory, via Cairo and her collaboration with Grammy award-winner Fathy Salama, to Europe. Karima Nayt sings in Algerian, classical Arabic and French. She combines Arabic soundscapes with chanson, musette and flamenco. As a star of the world music scene, she attracts fans from around the globe. Karima regularly takes up residency in Switzerland and experiments in collaboration with members of her extensive artistic network.
