With their fourth album Mexico, the Berlin-based folk band Mighty Oaks has surpassed their successful debut Howl and, with the release of this work in spring 2021, moved closer to the Top Ten of the Swiss album charts for the first time. A key factor in their cross-border popularity is frontman Ian Hopper, whose performance on the VOX show Sing meinen Song brought tears to many eyes. Songs by Mighty Oaks, like Brother or Seven Days, performed in rich harmonies, tell stories of freedom, adventure, and love. A concert by this band is an experience that soothes the soul.
