Stephan Eicher & Swiss Orchestra & Friends

Switzerland

Carte blanche for Stephan Eicher and the opening concert the 16th Zermatt Unplugged – not the first time that this Bernese artist has hosted an extraordinary musical journey on the Matterhorn. Pop, classic and alpine heritage are on the program. Stephan Eicher is throwing a party for us and he's inviting such eminent guests as the Swiss Orchestra under the baton of Lena-Lisa Wüstendörfer, his faithful accompanist, the pianist Reyn Ouwehand, the soprano singer Cinzia Zanovello, the harpist Noemi Von Felten, and the accordionist Mario Batkovic. The author Martin Suter is also set to make a special-guest appearance. Avant-garde in the 80s with Grauzone and a star in the chanson française sky, Stephan Eicher's artistic output has been characterized by diversity for more than 40 years. The albums Engelberg, Carcassonne and 1000 vies and Eicher's Mani Matter adaptation of Hemmige are all part of Switzerland's collective memory.
