Not an escape from reality, but rigorous introspection filtered through beauty and dignity: this is the attitude to which singer-songwriter Asaf Avidan repeatedly professes. Until 2010, Asaf Avidan & The Mojos were a purely Israeli folk phenomenon. The song The Reckoning, discovered and remixed by Berlin DJ Wankelmut, catapulted the musician into the international spotlight. Ten years after that initial big bang, Asaf Avidan is still churning out infinitely beautiful gems, the most recent ones being the songs from his 2020 album Anagnorisis.
