THE THIRD ACADEMY EDITION.
From April 6 to 11, 2024, Zermatt Unplugged Festival offers six emerging and highly talented Swiss newcomer acts the chance to participate in an attractive, interactive academy program. The academy aims to promote and support participants as they hone their craft and continue down the singer-songwriter road.
The Mountain Academy offers these newcomers the space to work on new material, opportunities to exchange ideas with other participants and learn from each other, and time to soak up the festival atmosphere and discover inspiration while visiting concerts together or hiking through the imposing landscape. Academy participants are also given the possibility to present their talent to the festival audience in a short showcase.
As the academy program also partly takes place while the festival is underway, there are various opportunities to use the festival's existing resources. The academy promotes the transfer of know-how through master classes and panel discussions with heavyweights of the industry who are in Zermatt for the festival.
The focus of the Mountain Academy 2024:
New songs are rapidly created in atelier sessions before being presented to the festival audience in a showcase. Participants work in teams of two to get the most out of their joint creativity. Together, they work on at least one complete song that they can present as part of their performance. This way, in addition to all the new experiences and impressions gained, the participants also get to take home something "tangible".
