His second and most recent album, Motivational Speaking from 2021, is an interesting departure from the usual work of American indie folk musician Ben Kramer, who calls himself Old Sea Brigade. A new energy is palpable in songs like Day By Day and Caroline. The Nashville-based singer-songwriter has been enriching the scene since 2015. Old Sea Brigade tells his often-provocative stories in atmospherically dense, cinematographically charged images. His sound is rooted in the musical traditions of the Southern states, Americana, country and rock.
