The story behind Sam Himself is based on a crazy transatlantic love affair between New York and Basel, between a musician and his newfound audience in Switzerland. Sam's playground for ten years was the inspirational New York music scene. In 2020, he returned to Switzerland to embark on a tour with Anna Rossinelli, but the corona restrictions put a stop to their plans after just one concert. Sam stayed in Basel and created his debut album Power Ballads, which turned him into an overnight sensation and sent waves all the way back to America. Everything comes together in these songs: a voice with personality, emotional depth, a dreamy lightness, humor and the appreciation of music as teamwork.
