OUR answer to this question would be: organize the Zermatt Unplugged Summer Weekends in July!
WHAT ARE THE SUMMER WEEKENDS?
The Zermatt Unplugged Summer Weekends revolve all around music, the creative process, and Zermatt as a place for inspiration, cuisine, and encounters. The focus is on small stages on the mountain and in the village and singer-songwriters who travel to Zermatt for several days, where they receive a platform for artistic exchange. Personal stories and friendships among the artists are given space and expression.
The Summer Weekends are an independent (festival) format that will continue to take place in future summer seasons. In particular this year – due to the pandemic – we have a different starting point than in a «regular» year. Hence, the Summer Weekends 2021 are designed more as a series of concerts and less as a festival. The content, formats, locations, and circumstances are continuously coordinated with the conditions and requirements of the federal and cantonal authorities.
WHAT'S DIFFERENT AT THE SUMMER WEEKENDS THAN FROM ZERMATT UNPLUGGED?
Zermatt in summer is a different Zermatt than as you know it in April. It becomes smaller and more personal. Many concerts are set up outside in nature amid the beautiful Valais Alps.
At the moment there are still a few pending questions about our plans, which is why we do not want to and cannot reveal all too much right now. But we remain confident that – based on experiences of the last few months – we can FINALLY indulge you (and ourselves included) with live acoustic music again this summer.

WHEN WILL THE PROGRAM BE ANNOUNCED & WHEN CAN TICKETS BE PURCHASED?
The only constant is change – hence we don't want to announce a definite date yet. What we can say, however, is that we plan to publish the program and sell tickets around mid-June. And what we have to say already is that we can only sell a very limited number of concert tickets, unfortunately.

WHAT ABOUT THE PANDEMIC?
The last few months have taught us how to plan on short notice and find solutions quickly. We plan for (almost) all circumstances – our top priority is always your health, well thought-out safety concepts, and sound societal judgement.
Extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures: solutions, flexibility, understanding, and a large portion of improvisational talent – from us, from you, from everyone.
